This medium-sized, hot to warm-growing epiphytic orchid is found in Borneo’s lowland and peat swamp forests at elevations up to 600 meters. It has creeping, pale yellow-green ovoid pseudobulbs with thick, leathery, cup-shaped leaves that trap debris. Blooming in spring and summer, it produces a 12 to 43 cm long pendant inflorescence with many beautiful but foul-smelling flowers. The rosy, violet-lined peduncle is covered in bracts, and the flesh-colored flowers are flecked with darker pink to purple.
