This miniature, warm to cool-growing epiphytic orchid is found in Java, Sumatra, Bali, Borneo, the Philippines, and the Thai-Malaysian peninsula at elevations of 500 to 1200 meters. It has strongly four-angled, yellow pseudobulbs with a single, thin, oblong leaf. Blooming in summer, it produces a thin, wiry, semi-pendulous inflorescence, 7 to 11 cm long, bearing two fragrant flowers. It typically grows on tree trunks in shady hill and lower montane forests.
