Bulbophyllum coweniorum

This small, warm to cool-growing epiphyte is found in Laos near the Thai border and central Vietnam at elevations of 800 to 1500 meters. It has a creeping, woody rhizome with close-set, ribbed, ellipsoid pseudobulbs, each bearing a single, erect, elliptic-lanceolate leaf. Blooming in spring, it produces a short, 1 to 1.2 cm (0.4 to 0.48 inches) long, single-flowered inflorescence with tubular floral bracts shorter than the ovary.
