This small-sized epiphyte is found in the eastern Himalayas, Southeast Asia, and parts of Indonesia, growing in primary ridge and hill forests at elevations of 200 to 2000 meters. It has narrowly ovoid pseudobulbs clustered along the rhizome, each carrying a single, linear, acute leaf with a grooved petiolate base. Blooming in spring, it produces a very short, lateral, single-flowered inflorescence that emerges close to the rhizome. It thrives in hot to cool conditions.
