This small to medium-sized epiphytic orchid grows in Papua New Guinea, the Bismarck Archipelago, and the Moluccas at elevations of 0–1150 meters. It has erect or pendulous, yellowish, 9-noded stems covered in papery sheaths and up to six rich green, coriaceous leaves. Blooming from spring through fall, it produces 3–8 scented, waxy flowers in dense, pendulous racemes from older pseudobulbs. Found in rainforest trees and mangroves, often near rivers and coastlines, it thrives in hot to warm conditions.
