Dendrobium erosum

This large epiphyte grows in southern Thailand, Malaysia, Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, Papua & New Guinea, Vanuatu, and the Solomon Islands at 500 to 2000 meters, often on large trees near mangrove swamps and lower montane forests. It has pendant, many-angled, noded stems with numerous lanceolate leaves. Blooming in fall and winter, it produces short, pendant inflorescences with 5 to 10 flowers emerging from the upper nodes of leafless canes. The flowers remain partially closed.
