Dossinia marmorata

Found only in Borneo’s lowland and hill forests on limestone at sea level to 400 meters, this miniature to small, hot-growing terrestrial orchid has a short stem with woolly roots. It carries 3–5 ovate to broadly elliptic, fleshy leaves with black-green tops, iridescent pink or golden patterns, and pink to purple undersides. Blooming in fall, winter, and spring, it produces a 23–60 cm tall, densely pubescent inflorescence with many pink-bracted flowers.
