This mini-miniature to miniature orchid is found in Brazil at elevations of 200 to 600 meters, growing on mossy branches in primary rainforests. It thrives in hot to warm conditions with a creeping, sometimes branching rhizome. Its pseudobulbs are narrow at the base, fusiform, and spaced 1 to 3 cm apart, each carrying a single, leathery, glossy dark green to purple leaf. Blooming year-round, it produces a short, up to 3 cm long, single-flowered inflorescence that emerges from a newly forming pseudobulb.
