This giant-sized, warm-growing epiphytic orchid is found in North Borneo at around 900 meters in elevation. It has a semi-pendulous, elongated, and branched leafy stem with coriaceous, ligulate leaves that are unequally bilobed at the tip. Blooming in summer, it produces a long, 60 cm axillary inflorescence with 8 to 10 flowers, accompanied by small pale brown and yellowish-green scarious bracts.
