Arachnis longisepala

This medium-sized, warm-growing epiphytic orchid is found in northern Borneo’s hill forests at elevations of 600 to 800 meters, growing in shaded areas on tree trunks. It has a branching stem covered in old gray or new green sheaths, with coriaceous, ligulate leaves that are unequally and obtusely bilobed at the tip. Blooming in late winter, it produces a few-branched, 52 cm long axillary inflorescence with ovate, obtuse floral bracts and unscented flowers.
