Bulbophyllum blephiscatoides

This mini-miniature, hot to cool-growing bifoliate epiphyte is found in Assam, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, and Malaysia at elevations up to 1700 meters. It has ovate pseudobulbs, spaced over 2 inches apart on a woody rhizome, each bearing two bilobed elliptical leaves. Blooming in summer and fall, it produces an 8 to 12-inch slender inflorescence with an apical umbel of 5 to 10 successive flowers held above the leaves. It thrives in evergreen, semi-deciduous, and dry lowland forests.
