Bulbophyllum blumei

This small, hot to warm-growing unifoliate epiphytic orchid is found at elevations of 50 to 800 meters in coastal forests and rainforests. It forms large clumps with narrowly conical pseudobulbs spaced 2 to 5 cm apart, each bearing a single elliptic leaf. Blooming from spring to fall, it produces a basal, erect inflorescence up to 15 cm long, carrying one or two flowers held at leaf length. It grows on tree trunks and large branches.
