This miniature-sized epiphyte is found only in Sarawak, Borneo, at elevations of 100 to 200 meters, thriving in hot, lowland conditions. It has distant, cylindrical pseudobulbs, each bearing a single, erect, leathery, elliptic leaf that narrows into a petiolate base. Blooming in late spring, it produces a spreading inflorescence 9.5 to 11 cm long, carrying 15 to 17 non-resupinate, wide-open flowers that mostly bloom simultaneously.
