Bulbophyllum lobbii ‘Sabah’

This small to medium-sized epiphytic orchid is found in Borneo, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines at elevations of 200 to 2000 meters. It thrives in lowland and montane forests, growing on tree trunks and branches in hot to cool conditions. The plant has well-spaced pseudobulbs covered in persistent sheaths that split into yellow fibers, each bearing a single leathery leaf. Blooming in summer, it produces a large, fragrant flower on a 15 cm long inflorescence emerging from the rhizome.
