This small epiphytic orchid is found in Sumatra and Malaysia at around 1000 meters in warm climates. It has obliquely ovoid, irregularly four- to five-sided pseudobulbs with a single, tough, fleshy, elliptic to oblong-elliptic leaf that narrows into a petiolate base. Blooming from a basal, 2-inch (5 cm) long inflorescence that starts thin and thickens towards the apex, it produces single flowers successively, making it a fascinating yet subtle presence in its natural habitat.
