Bulbophyllum longissimum

This small epiphytic orchid is found in Thailand, Myanmar, Borneo, and Malaysia at lower elevations. It thrives in hot to warm climates and has conical, sheathed pseudobulbs with a single, apical, leathery oblong leaf. Blooming in spring, it produces an 8-inch (20 cm) long, erect or pendant inflorescence. At the tip, a fragrant umbel of 5 to 10 short-lived flowers appears, making it a delicate yet striking plant adapted to its tropical environment.
