This small epiphytic orchid is found in the Moluccas and Borneo at around 500 meters in warm, humid hill forests. It has clustered, ovoid, slightly angled pseudobulbs with a single, erect to suberect, oblong, leathery leaf. Blooming in spring, it produces a basal, up to 12-inch (30 cm) long, curved or sub-erect inflorescence that bears an umbel of 6 to 10 flowers. This species thrives in hot to warm conditions, adding delicate beauty to its natural forest habitat.
