This miniature to small warm-growing epiphyte is found in Malaysia, Sumatra, and Borneo at elevations of 1000 to 1700 meters. It has narrowly conical, slightly compressed pseudobulbs spaced about 2 cm apart along the rhizome, each carrying a single, elliptic, acute leaf that narrows into a petiole. Blooming in the fall, it produces a short, 2.5 cm long basal inflorescence that bears a single drooping flower, which does not fully open, adapting to its lowland forest environment.
