Bulbophyllum retusiusculum

This mini-miniature to miniature epiphytic or occasional lithophytic orchid is found in China, Nepal, the Himalayas, and Southeast Asia at elevations of 500 to 3000 meters. It has a creeping, branching rhizome with slender, narrowly ovate-conical pseudobulbs and a single, leathery, linear-oblong leaf. Blooming in summer and fall, it produces a slender, up to 14 cm long inflorescence with 6 to 12 flowers in an apical umbel. The flowers open simultaneously and vary in color, adapting to diverse forest habitats.
