Bulbophyllum setuliferum

This miniature, cool-growing epiphyte is found in Thailand, Vietnam, and China’s Yunnan province at elevations of 1100 to 1400 meters. It has depressed pyramidal pseudobulbs spaced 1.5 to 2.5 cm apart, each bearing a single elliptic, subacute leaf. Blooming in spring and early summer, it produces an erect to spreading inflorescence, 14 to 22 cm long, with 23 to 33 small, dark, and very hairy flowers. The flowers bloom successively and feature a highly mobile labellum, adding to their unique appearance.
