Bulbophyllum subumbellatum

This miniature-sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte is found in Peninsular Malaysia and Borneo at elevations up to 250 meters in lowland swamp forests, growing on tree trunks and branches. It has narrowly cylindrical pseudobulbs spaced 2 to 5 inches apart, each bearing a single, apical, acute leaf. Blooming on a slender, 4-inch-long inflorescence, it produces 2 to 3 fragrant flowers, though they do not open fully.
