Bulbophyllum stormii

This miniature-sized, unifoliate epiphyte is found in Malaysia, Sumatra, and Borneo at elevations of 1000 to 2000 meters. It grows on mossy or bare branches of understory trees and shrubs in both wet and dry montane forests. The plant has oblong, somewhat flattened pseudobulbs that are closely set along the rhizome, each carrying a single elliptic leaf. Blooming in summer and early fall, it produces a slender, upright inflorescence with a solitary, unscented flower held above the leaves.
