This miniature, leafless epiphyte is found in Vietnam, Myanmar, Thailand, India, and the Himalayan kingdoms, growing in dry lowland forests and savanna-like woodlands from sea level to 700 meters. It thrives in hot to warm conditions, with small leaves that wither before blooming. In spring and summer, it produces an erect, 10–20 cm pubescent raceme with 10–20 fragrant flowers. It requires bright light and frequent watering to thrive in its natural habitat.
