This miniature, hot to warm-growing monopodial epiphyte is found in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos at elevations of 300 to 1000 meters. It has a very short stem with two rows of thick, leathery green leaves that develop maroon stains in brighter light. Blooming in summer and fall, it produces a pendant, paniculate, up to 35 cm long inflorescence with up to five branches, carrying many flowers that open successively, with up to 15 blooming at a time.
