Coelogyne zurowetzii

This orchid is found in Kalimantan and Sabah, Borneo, in heath and freshwater swamp forests at elevations of 400 to 700 meters. It is a small to medium-sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with spaced, flattened, wrinkled pseudobulbs and two apical, narrow, plicate leaves. Blooming from fall to winter, it produces an arched to horizontal inflorescence with a few simultaneously opening, spicy-floral scented flowers. The flowers have broad, acute floral bracts and emerge alongside new growth.
