Dendrobium amboinensis

This miniature to small-sized orchid is native to Amboin Island in the Moluccas. It thrives in hot to warm conditions, growing on club-shaped, jointed canes that are swollen at the base. Each cane carries 2 to 3 leathery, oblong-lanceolate, acute leaves. Blooming in spring, it produces short inflorescences with 2 to 4 fragrant but very short-lived flowers that emerge from the nodes at the apex of both leafy and leafless canes.
