This cool-growing epiphyte is found in Sabah and Sarawak, Borneo, at elevations of 1,100 to 1,500 meters in lower to upper montane forests. It grows pendently, with canes carrying several linear, acute, basally clasping leaves near the apex. Blooming in spring, it produces a 6 cm long, pendent inflorescence with a few to several flowers emerging from the nodes near the apex of the stem.
