Dendrobium linguella

This medium-sized, pendent-growing epiphyte is found in Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, Sumatra, Borneo, and southern Malaysia at elevations of 300 to 1250 meters. It thrives in hot to cool conditions with slender, erect, soft canes that carry deciduous, lanceolate leaves on the upper half. Blooming occurs in spring on short, 4 to 6 flowered inflorescences emerging in clusters along the upper two-thirds of mature canes. The flowers are waxy, enhancing their durability and visual appeal.
