Dendrobium linearifolium

This large epiphyte grows in Sumatra, Java, and Bali on roadside trees in near full sun at elevations of 700 to 1800 meters. It thrives in warm to cool conditions with a basally swollen stem and many linear, faintly bilobed leaves. Blooming occurs along the stem on short, 1 to 2 flowered inflorescences. The flowers are short-lived but appear throughout the plant, making it a sporadic bloomer. It adapts well to bright environments and open forested areas.
