This medium-sized, warm-growing epiphyte is found in Sarawak, Borneo, at elevations of 600 to 1000 meters in exposed montane and heath forests. It has clumping, erect, zig-zag stems with up to nine nodes, with upper leaf sheaths covered in brown or black hairs. The plant carries up to six persistent, narrowly ovate leaves near the apex, which have black hairs underneath. Blooming in summer, it produces short, 3 to 7 flowered inflorescences with long-lasting, fragrant flowers from the upper nodes of older canes.
