This miniature, hot to warm-growing epiphyte is found in Assam, the eastern Himalayas, Thailand, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam at elevations of 300 to 900 meters. It has thin, basally narrow stems that expand and flatten above, carrying 10 to 12 fleshy, triangular, deciduous leaves. Blooming in the fall, it produces short, lateral inflorescences with 1 to 2 flowers, usually arising from leafless stems but occasionally from leafy ones.
