Dendrobium miyakei

This medium to large-sized, hot to warm-growing epiphyte is found below 300 meters in the banyan jungles of Taiwan and the Philippines, often on ficus trees. It has clustered, unbranched canes with many deciduous, lanceolate leaves. Blooming occurs in late winter to early spring, with a secondary bloom in summer and fall. Short, racemose inflorescences arise from older, leafless canes, producing 4 to 8 small flowers. It requires reduced water and no fertilizer in winter, resuming care in spring.
