Dendrobium pachyphyllum

This miniature, hot to cool-growing epiphyte is found in Assam, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Sumatra, Java, Borneo, and the Philippines at elevations of 300 to 2100 meters. It grows low on tree trunks in swamps, orchards, and roadsides with bright light. It has glossy, wiry stems with two thick, fleshy, yellow-green leaves with red tips. Blooming in spring, it produces short, axillary, few-flowered inflorescences with short-lived, sometimes fragrant flowers that open successively or simultaneously.
