This medium-sized, hot-growing epiphyte is found in Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Java, Sumatra, Bali, Borneo, and Queensland, Australia, at elevations of 100 to 300 meters in riverine forests. It has fleshy, cane-like stems with thin, acute, deciduous leaves arranged in two ranks. Blooming in spring and summer, it produces a short inflorescence with 2 to 3 flowers emerging from the upper nodes of the canes. The flowers turn yellow as they age.
