Dendrobium tanii

This small to medium-sized, hot to warm-growing epiphyte is found in Papua New Guinea, the Bismarck Archipelago, and the Moluccas at elevations of 0 to 1150 meters. It has tufted, erect or pendulous, yellowish stems with papery sheaths and up to six coriaceous, green leaves. Blooming from spring through fall, it produces 4 cm long, pendulous racemes with ball-like clusters of 3 to 8 scented, waxy flowers. It grows on forest trees and mangroves, often near rivers and coastlines.
