This small to medium-sized orchid grows as an epiphyte, terrestrial, or lithophyte in Assam, Bangladesh, Andaman Islands, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam at around 1220 meters. It has club to spindle-shaped, grooved stems with tubular leaf sheaths and 3 to 4 thin, curved, leathery, deciduous leaves. Blooming from late winter to early summer, it produces a 4 to 8 cm axillary inflorescence from upper leaf axils on leafless canes, bearing 2 to 3 long-lasting, fragrant flowers.
