This medium-sized, warm-growing epiphytic orchid is found only in Sulawesi at elevations of 800 to 900 meters. It has ovoid pseudobulbs, each bearing a single, apical, petiolate, elliptic to obtuse leaf. Preferring light shade and a well-draining medium, it blooms in summer on an erect, 45 cm (18-inch) inflorescence with several tubular bracts. The inflorescence produces up to 12 fragrant (but unpleasant-smelling) flowers in succession.
