This small, hot to warm-growing epiphyte and occasional lithophyte is found in Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo, and Luzon at elevations of 400 to 500 meters. It has a creeping rhizome with cylindric, conical pseudobulbs spaced up to 2.5 cm apart, each bearing a single, leathery, dark green, oblong leaf with a petiolate base. Blooming on an erect, 20 to 60+ cm (8 to 24 inches) long inflorescence, it produces a single, wide-opening, odorless flower held above the leaves.
