This miniature to small, warm to cool-growing epiphyte is found in southern Yunnan, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, and Laos at elevations of 800–1700 meters. It has a creeping, branching, pendant rhizome with small ovate pseudobulbs spaced 0.4–0.8 inches apart, each carrying a single, elliptic, acute leaf with a short petiole. Blooming in summer, it produces a very short, basal, single-flowered inflorescence with a short-lived, unusual-looking flower.
