Bulbophyllum hirtulum

These epiphytic orchids have a creeping rhizome that produces small, wrinkled pseudobulbs, each carrying a single persistent leaf. They bloom on a multi-flowered, racemose inflorescence with resupinate flowers. The sepals are equal in length, usually 3–5 veined, and can be smooth or ciliate. The petals have ciliate margins, while the mobile, auriculate lip is attached by a thin ligament. The column’s stigma may protrude, and the stelida vary in size. The anther is sometimes concave, and the flowers contain four pollinia.
