This mini-miniature epiphytic orchid is found in Malaysia, Borneo, Java, Sulawesi, Sumatra, Papua New Guinea, and several Pacific islands, growing in lowland forests up to 450 meters. It thrives in hot conditions and has small, conical-ovate pseudobulbs spaced 0.2 to 2 inches (5 mm to 5 cm) apart. Each pseudobulb carries a single, apical, broadly elliptic leaf. The plant blooms on a short, suberect, basal inflorescence, sometimes emerging directly from the rhizome, producing a single flower.
