This miniature orchid is found in Thailand, Yunnan (China), and Vietnam, growing as a warm to cool epiphyte or lithophyte on tree trunks at 400 to 1500 meters. It has squat, ovoid to low-conical, wrinkled pseudobulbs spaced 0.6 to 2.5 cm apart, each carrying a single linear to lanceolate leaf. Blooming in late winter to early spring, it produces an erect, basal inflorescence up to 44 cm long, with 13 to 27 flowers that open successively, accompanied by small triangular bracts.
