This miniature-sized epiphyte or lithophyte is found in southeastern to southwestern Yunnan, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, and Vietnam at elevations of 1200 to 1700 meters. It grows on shady rocks or tree trunks in sparse woods. The plant has clustered, reclining, ellipsoid pseudobulbs with a basal net, each carrying a single, apical, narrow-based leaf. Blooming in late spring to early summer, it produces a short to 2-inch inflorescence with 1 to 3 flowers and an acuminate bract near the base.
