This mini-miniature to miniature epiphyte is found in Yunnan, Assam, the eastern Himalayas, Bhutan, Sikkim, Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam at elevations of 1000 to 2500 meters. It grows in cool to cold conditions with conical, rugose pseudobulbs that lose their two oblong leaves during flowering. Blooming in spring, it produces a slender, arching, racemose inflorescence with 4 to 12 fragrant flowers. The flowers emerge from the pseudobulb, accompanied by tubular and lanceolate bracts.
