This miniature to small epiphyte or lithophyte is found in Yunnan, northern Myanmar, and Thailand at elevations of 200 to 2000 meters. It has a creeping, branching rhizome with yellow-green, glossy, angular pseudobulbs spaced 4 cm apart, each carrying a single thick, leathery, rugose leaf. Blooming in spring, it produces a stout, rigid inflorescence 7 to 15 cm long from a new pseudobulb, forming an umbel of up to seven fragrant flowers that open simultaneously at the apex.
