Chroniochilus virescens

This mini-miniature epiphyte is found in Thailand, Borneo, Malaysia, and Sumatra at 500 to 1000 meters in hill forests. It thrives in warm conditions with a stout, erect stem and thick, fleshy, strap-shaped leaves that are unequally bilobed at the tip. Blooming through summer, it produces a 2.5 cm long, flattened inflorescence with up to 8 successively opening flowers. The flowers are very fragrant, short-lived, and have a unique cupcake-like scent, accompanied by fleshy, broadly ovate floral bracts.
