This small, cool to cold-growing monopodial orchid is found only in Sabah, Borneo, at elevations of 1100 to 3000 meters in montane and riverine forests. It has terete stems covered by leaf-bearing sheaths, with juvenile leaves that are thick and linear-ligulate, maturing into terete, falcate to straight leaves. Blooming in winter and spring, it produces an axillary, 8.5 cm long inflorescence with 8 to 15 long-lasting, unscented flowers held close to the leaf axil.
