Cleisostoma odoratum

This medium-sized, cool-growing epiphyte is found in Peninsular Malaysia at elevations of 1000 to 1250 meters in lower montane forests. It has an erect, rarely branched stem with crowded, dark green, maroon-marked, strap-shaped leaves. Blooming in spring and summer, it produces numerous axillary, arching, 2 to 9-branched inflorescences, each 15 cm long, carrying up to 50 fragrant, violet-scented flowers, with up to 18 open at a time.
