This small, warm to cool-growing epiphyte or lithophyte is found in Thailand, Malaysia, Sumatra, and Borneo at elevations of 300 to 2150 meters in lowland and montane forests. It has a creeping rhizome with ovate, weakly angled pseudobulbs spaced 3 to 5 cm apart, each carrying two glossy, lanceolate, plicate leaves with grooved petiolate bases. Blooming in spring and summer, it produces a 15 cm erect to arching racemose inflorescence with 3 to 5 fragrant, long-lasting flowers emerging from a new pseudobulb.
