Coelogyne massangeana

This cool to cold-growing epiphyte is found in Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo, and Java at elevations of 1150 to 2100 meters in river valleys and montane forests. It has elongate-conical, somewhat angled pseudobulbs that turn yellowish-green and wrinkled with age, each carrying a single, plicate, elliptic-obovate, long-petiolate leaf. Blooming mainly in summer, it produces a delicate, short-lived, fragrant flower display on a 37.5 cm pendant, racemose inflorescence with a zigzag rachis, short bracts, and 20 to 30 flowers.
